Capitol is pleased to have added Lisa Smallwood as a licensed settlement officer in its Waldorf office.

Lisa’s journey into the title business began in 2003 after spending seven years on Capitol HIll as the Executive Assistant to different Congressmen. She began as a temporary employee at a title company and, within 2 years, became the Manager of two office locations (simultaneously) for that company, mastering processing, bank reconciliations, post-closing, conducting closings and business development. With the demands of the market changing, Lisa started a short sale division and added relocation processing to her repertoire.

Lisa’s education includes an Associates Degree in Medical Transcription as well as a Teacher’s Instructor Certificate. She is extremely well known in the industry for being personable, professional, efficient, highly energetic and for exceeding her clients’ expectations.

Born in Washington, D.C., Lisa is now a resident of Charles County and has been since 1975. She prides herself on building strong relationships with people, both personally and professionally. Lisa enjoys spending time with her two teenage boys and being a baseball mom. When she’s not conducting closings, she can be found somewhere near the ocean boating, paddle boarding, fishing and crabbing.

Lisa is licensed a licensed settlement officer in Maryland, DC and Virginia and is a member of the Southern Maryland Association of Realtors.
