Barry DesRoches initially entered the title business in 2001 as a consultant to help establish systems and processes in a newly formed title company. Shortly thereafter he purchased a controlling interest in the company and led the successful growth and expansion of the business.
Early in his career, Barry held leadership positions with national homebuilders Ryland Homes and Cardinal Industries. Increasing complexities of the new homes industry, paired with his extensive experience with home building transactions, Barry created and led his company’s New Home/Building Division. Barry has now, thankfully, joined Capitol Title as the company’s Vice President of Builder and Major Account Services.
Barry graduated from the University of Maryland in 1980 with a B.S. Business Management, majoring in Marketing. He then earned an MBA in Finance from Loyola University of Baltimore.
An active University of Maryland Alumnus Barry served as President of the Robert Smith School of Business’ Alumni Association, and as a member of the school’s Board of Visitors. Barry was one of 75 individuals honored on the occasion of the Smith school’s 75th anniversary for his dedication to the school. He has been a member of the Terrapin Club for over 25 years and has served on its board of directors. Barry is a Board Member of the “Friends of the University of Maryland Golf Course”
Barry is involved with UMD’s Sigma Chi Fraternity’s Gamma Chi Chapter and was recognized as one of the 100 leading loyal supporters of the Greek System. He is a long-standing member of the Rotary Club of Crofton, Maryland and is a recipient of their Rotarian of the year award. He also serves on the Board of the Crofton Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of the Maryland Land Title Association.
